Location
The area was first settled by timber cutters whose prize was the massive stands of red cedar in the area. Today, there are dairy and beef properties and beyond them State Forests and National Parks. Dairy Flat has on its N/E boundary the wilderness areas of the Mt. Lindesay section of the "Border Ranges National Park" and "State Forests" on its other boundaries.
The nearest town is Woodenbong which has a well designed golf course, club house with poker machines and a hotel with meals.
